A decorator who filmed a homeless man spray painted has claimed he needs police protection after the victim was found dead just days after the attack.
Aaron Jones was confronted outside his home where he apologised for posting the video online but then called for police to protect him.
The body of Michael Cash was discovered in a graveyard less than a week after the humiliating attack in Middlesbrough.
Mr Cash, 32, was found dead at Eston Cemetery on Wednesday.
Just days before, he was cruelly spray painted as he sat begging outside a Tesco Express in Normanby.
In video clip documenting the attack a man can be heard saying “this is how we deal with the beggars on the street,” showing Mr Cash doused in red paint.
He then added: “There he is, sprayed to death.”
Red paint could still be seen splattered on the ground and wall where Mr Cash was attacked.
I’m not responsible for his murder. I now need police protection, Mr Jones pleaded with reporters.
