Man who downloaded “paedophile manual” from the deep web gets 13 months in prison

32 year old old, Alan Walton had downloaded a 170 page “paedophile manual”, he was said to be “obsessed” with the deep web. Walton also downloaded hundreds of images of indecent children, as well as having thousands saved on his mobile phone.

Over 1000 images on Walton’s mobile phone contained 346 category A images, 306 category B and 463 category C. Walton pleaded guilty, admitting the three charges of having indecent images of children on his mobile phone, he was said to have thought the images were codes for online video games.

John Nixon, Walton’s defence lawyer said: “Mr Walton had a dreadful upbringing, and now lives an isolated existence, he is something of a loner.”

Walton was sentenced to 13 months in prison, 35 days of rehab and a two year suspended sentence.

He will register as a sex offender for 10 years.
