An eight-year-old boy has been found dead after he was allegedly suffocated by his own mum at their home.

Little Brodie Moran was discovered dead yesterday afternoon, his mother, Joanne Finch, was arrested and charged with the murder of the little boy.

Her appearance came as Brodie’s heartbroken dad, Lee Moran, paid a heartfelt tribute to his “little fella”, saying he had lost the “best part” of him.

Posting on Facebook, Lee, wrote: “I feel empty, still in shock. I have lost the best part of me

According to local media, the grieving father added: “Words cannot describe how much I love and miss my little fella.”

He also expressed his thanks to well-wishers.

Police are investigating whether Brodie – who reportedly lived in the UK before moving to Australia with his mum – may have been suffocated.

Finch, originally from the Surrey area in the UK appeared at Melbourne Magistrates court wearing a grey sweatshirt, She was remanded into custody following an out-of-sessions hearing last night.
