Boy with severe brain disease chained up for more than 10 years by family who couldn’t afford medical bills

A teenage boy suffering with a severe type of brain disease has been tied up by his family for more than a ten years.
Yang Jie, 17, has learning difficulties caused by the disease.

Reports say he has a habit of going missing from the family home, which led his parents to decide on drastic action and chain him up to prevent him wandering off and to stop him from hurting himself and also to stop him from eating things from the ground such as leaves and even his own faeces.

It is unclear what will happen in the to the young boy as it is not thought that the parents will be able to afford his medical treatment.
